East Wenatchee Clovis Collection

In 1987, workers digging a trench in an apple orchard in East Wenatchee, Washington discovered several large flaked blades. Later archaeological excavations uncovered a large cache of blades and bone rods from the Clovis culture, one of the earliest American Indian cultures of North America. Dating to 11,000 B.P., this cache includes some of the largest Clovis blades ever discovered, as well as the bone artifacts which are unusually well preserved.
