| Abstract | The Aurora Club of Tacoma was established in 1902 by a group of women who sought to promote the literary culture and the social improvement of its members. The club met twice a month to discuss a wide variety of academic subjects such as art history, literature reviews and the histories of people and countries around the world. The Aurora Club also produced a yearly magazine featuring essays and poems produced by the members and held an annual "Tureen Luncheon". The Aurora Club was affiliated with the Washington State Federation of Women's Clubs and the Presidents' Council of Women's Organizations of Tacoma and Pierce County. |
| Scope and Content | The records of the Aurora Club consist of three minutes books, 1902-1969; Aurora Club Magazine, 1903-1928; annual programs, 1903-1979; group photograph, 1952; miscellaneous newspaper clippings, 1930-1950; and an anonymous poem and photograph. |
