| Scope and Content | The Fairley papers relate to her tenure in the Senate, and, in particular, the 1999 Regular Session of the 56th Legislature of the State of Washington. Responding to a request from the Washington State Historical Society, Senator Fairley and her office staff saved the majority of the material that came through the office during the 1999 session and immediate wrap-up (January through May). Files of legislative bills in their various stages, along with related research, documentation and testimony; correspondence and requests (in all forms, including email) from individuals, organizations and agencies; the work of her three assigned committees during the session; and various reports and other 1999 legislative session related materials constitute the bulk of the papers. Also included are constituent correspondence in the form of Hotline Messages and Responses and Casework files from 1994 through the middle of 1999. |
