| Biography | The Tacoma Business and Professional Women's Club is a local chapter of a larger national organization. The club was founded in 1910 and is affiliated with the Washington state, national and international Federations. The objective of the club was to elevate the standards, promote the interests and spirit of cooperation and extend opportunities to business and professional women. Membership was voted on by all active members and the women were appointed to various committees. The club was involved in fundraising for charities and gave direct help to needy families. The Club also organized the annual "Woman of Achievement" award which honored the efforts of individual women around the Tacoma area. |
