| Abstract | Founded in 1891, St. Andrew's Guild of Tacoma was a women's guild of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. |
| Biography | The St. Andrew's Guild of Tacoma was a women's guild of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Tacoma, WA. Although founded in 1891, it appears not to have begun keeping minutes of its meetings until September 1894. The women met weekly at various member's homes and engaged in a variety of projects, including sewing dresses for "the home" (called "Sheltering Arms) and making quilts for a raffle in order to raise funds for various projects of the guild and the church. These projects included buying dolls for girls at Christmas, supporting Indian children, and other efforts, mainly on behalf of children. The minutes end on January 18, 1898, but the guild apparently continued to function. |
| Scope and Content | The minutes book contains somewhat detailed minutes between 1894 and 1898. It also contains the constitution and bylaws, list of members, and extensive lists of materials purchased for quilt and dress making. |
