Full DescriptionEleanor Chittenden poses with a steelhead trout and a fishing pole on a rock beside the Elwha River. She wears a skirt, double breasted jacket with puffed sleeves and sash tied at her neck. Her hat is tilted at jaunty angle on her head. Eleanor was the daughter of Hiram Chittenden, Army engineer and historian whose career included work with the Port of Seattle. The photograph was taken on an expedition to the Olympic Peninsula with the Mountaineers.
